Experienced Divorce Mediation and Conciliation Attorney in Boston

Middlesex County along with other communities in Boston has been bombarded with family law and probate cases. In 2003, Middlesex County had 26,000 filings in the probate and family courts. Staggering numbers like these have given rise to the county's Probate and Family Court Conciliation program, which is designed to help the court system manage this heavy case load.

My name is Judith A. Wayne, and I am a certified conciliator with more than 30 years of legal experience. I am ready to help you and your spouse resolve your disputes through divorce mediation or conciliation. Contact me today to schedule a convenient consultation.

Extensive Experience in Conciliation

Conciliation, much like divorce mediation, is an amicable and less costly way of resolving a family law dispute. For more than three decades, I have helped hundreds of couples resolve their disputes through divorce mediation and conciliation, including those related to:

I am a certified Massachusetts conciliator who can help you resolve divorce issues outside of court. A conciliator is different from a mediator in that a conciliator must be an attorney who has completed the requirements and is certified by the state of Massachusetts.

In Middlesex County, a judge will inform a divorcing couple of their option to resolve their dispute through the conciliation program. If the couple elects to use the program, an order will be issued and a conciliator from the same geographic area as the divorcing couple will be assigned. There are no cost eligibility guidelines and independent legal counsel is not required.

My Role in Divorce Mediation and Conciliation

In both mediation and conciliation, my role is not to act as a lawyer for either side. Instead, I generally meet with each side in an effort to help them resolve their issues amicably.

I conduct the meetings without an agenda in order to provide an opportunity for each side to openly discuss their needs and concerns. My role is to validate each side's points, while encouraging them to rise above their differences and reach a mutually beneficial resolution. Once an agreement is reached, the divorce decree will be signed by the judge. Both mediation and arbitration save a divorcing couple time, money and undue stress.
